Events are increasingly used strategically by a range of organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors. They are normally regarded as communication tools, but they can be also be used to develop new networks and economic activity.

This seminar covers some of the ideas, issues and challenges associated with strategic event creation – creating new events to advance strategic objectives. The contributions will address the conceptual basis for this type of approach, alongside some examples of innovative practice.
