Deborah Adejobi.

My name is Deborah Adejobi, and I am a second-year undergraduate studying Law at the University of Westminster. I am passionate about making a positive impact within my university community and ensuring students feel heard and supported.

Throughout my time at university, I have actively engaged in extracurricular activities, which have allowed me to connect with incredible people and broaden my perspective. I am particularly enthusiastic about sharing the fantastic opportunities that Westminster Working Cultures (WWC) has given me, as they have enhanced my understanding of career pathways and professional development.

As an aspiring lawyer, I strongly believe that networking and communication are essential skills and this has motivated me to apply for the WWC Ambassador role. I am excited about the opportunity to represent my fellow students, support their university journey, and contribute to a more inclusive and engaging academic environment.

Safia Adjei.

Hi I’m Safia and I’m a final year Psychology student at the Westminster.

I had the privilege of attending the WWC trip to Toronto in September 2024, and it was the opportunity of a lifetime. I was able to indulge in my other interests and passions just by walking through the city and immersing myself in what the art, music, and creativity cultures had to offer there. I have made friends for life, been exposed to new cultures and professional landscapes, and have grown my communicative and networking skills all as a result of this amazing opportunity.

Hasan Alikhan.

I’m Hasan Alikhan, a BA student in English Language and Global Communications with a passion for storytelling in all its forms. Whether through words, photography, or conversation, I’m always looking to capture and share meaningful experiences. You’ll rarely find me without my Polaroid, snapping moments that reflect the beauty of the world around me.

London is my playground and my muse. I’m always running around with my camera, capturing the city’s energy, hidden gems, and the way cultures blend seamlessly here. Every street has a story, every market a new discovery, and I love freezing these moments in time.

Food is another passion of mine – I’m a big foodie, constantly on the hunt for new flavours, from street food stalls to hole-in-the-wall eateries. Whether in London or traveling abroad, I believe the best way to understand a place is through its food.

Beyond exploration, I love deep conversations and listening to people’s stories. Reflection fuels my growth, and I embrace every opportunity to learn—about the world, about others, and about myself. Life’s best moments are the ones we dive into headfirst.

Hi, I’m Diaviane (pronounced Dee-av-ee-on) and I am a final year law student. I participated in the WWC UK June 2024 programme. The Westminster Working Cultures programme was a very memorable and rewarding experience as I was able to hear the success stories of each guest speaker as well as them providing us with valuable and beneficial advice and resources in order to develop our professional and personal skills. I am looking forward to becoming an ambassador as I want to give back to the programme and to encourage all students to apply.

Tanya Gowreesunker.

Hello ! I am Tanya, a second year law student. I previously took part in the WWC Cairo 2024 program. It was a wonderful opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.

Along with visiting the beautiful pyramids of Giza, exploring Cairo gave me the opportunity to make new connections, learn more about a new culture and gain an insight into the realities of the job market. I also learned valuable insight into how to navigate the potential challenges of finding one's career path in their early 20s. Discussions ranged on numerous topics and gave me broader perspective on the working industry.

I have previously undertaken legal and non legal volunteer work and constantly thrive to build transferable skills by engaging with new opportunities. Outside academics, I often enjoy watching live musicals and old movies when I get the chance.

I would describe the WWC experience as 'transformational' and a 'once in a lifetime opportunity', and would therefore strongly advise anyone who has a curiosity to explore different perspectives and a keen interest to travel to give it a try! You won't regret it!

Alongside my studies, I volunteer as a Junior Consultant at Westminster Business Consultants, serve as a Course Representative, e-Mentor, and soon, a Campus Ambassador—clearly, I love guiding others.

When I first arrived in the UK, I had ambitious dreams but little direction. Missing out on key opportunities due to lack of awareness fuelled my dedication to raising awareness about Westminster’s working cultures and becoming an ambassador. Since participating in the UK program in April 2024, I’ve been raving about how a pivotal moment it was. Receiving direct insights from professionals in roles I aspire to? That was an invaluable privilege. It was, without a doubt, one of the most enriching weeks of my academic and professional life here in London.

This program has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. Applying the wisdom and strategies I learned from these remarkable individuals has been a key driver in shaping my path. Becoming an ambassador is the least I can do to give back to a program run by passionate professionals committed to our success.

Hi, I'm Beyza, currently in my second year of law school. My future academic ambitions include specializing in either property law or immigration law. Outside of my studies, I'm a passionate football fan, especially when it comes to Trabzonspor, my favourite Turkish team that I deeply support. Alongside football, I have a strong interest in netball and try to play whenever I can. Balancing sports with my academic life helps me stay energized and focused, allowing me to develop both personally and professionally. I believe this balance is key to my growth as I work toward achieving my career goals.

Having visited almost 50 countries thus far, I am forever searching for fresh and exciting career opportunities through international networking and exploration.

As WWC Ambassador, I endeavour to promote and create a wider awareness of the programme and the opportunities it can lead to with a focus on reaching the 'creative courses' run by the University, usually based at Harrow Campus.

I aim to use my experience in content creation and storytelling through studying for a Film BA and implementing a professional workflow learnt through freelance opportunities to create engaging content that will hopefully lead to a wider outreach campaign. I look forward to working with the other ambassadors in sharing our experiences of how WWC has helped us in our employability journeys and how this can translate to other students working in the University. With my experience of social media marketing, I hope to be the creative drive and am excited to collaborate with others in a group, as well as complete my individual tasks to the best of my ability.

My name is Lokesh and I am a third year Digital Media BA student at the University of Westminster.

I recently took part in the Westminster Working Cultures (WWC) programme to Cairo, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I decided to become a WWC Ambassador because I enjoy talking about the experiences I have had and telling stories about adventures I have taken, such as the opportunity I had to go to Cairo. I am also interested in influencing other students to take part in such incredible opportunities so as to further build up their CV's and resumes and improve their chances of being employed by a great company.

Hi! My name is Bailey, and I am a current second-year journalism student.

Being selected for the WWC Cairo programme has been one of the defining experiences for me as a Westminster student. It has allowed me to develop professionally, by gaining employability experience and industry-relevant networking, in a foreign working environment. It has also allowed me to meet other University of Westminster students that I might otherwise never have met. This experience has truly enriched my overall university experience as the transferable skills and amazing connections we built in Cairo, are ones that have lived on well past the end of the programme. Becoming a WWC ambassador will enable me to use the skills and experiences that I have gained to spread further awareness for this program in hopes that more of my fellow students will have the chance to experience the unique opportunities that I have.

Hi, my name is Sikandar Ali, I have been given the honour to take part in the Westminster Working Cultures Cairo 2024 trip, which I have honestly been able to have such an enlightening and amazing time. I found that every second of the trip was so wholesome and exhilarating. I was able to experience so much in such a short amount of time and it has truly been amazing being a part of this wonderful trip I believe that this programme has allowed me to gain so many new skills and this wonderful opportunity has opened so many new doors for me. On this trip not only was I able to use it as a very successful networking opportunity to be able to connect with industry professionals, who I had learned such valuable information from, but I was able to make some very amazing lifelong friends through this trip.

Having taken part in such an amazing trip, not only have I been able to pick up on many different employability skills and improve upon my existing skills where I have been able to apply them in diverse situations. The programme allowed me the privilege of exploring new horizons and pushing beyond my comfort zone, all within a small period of time. This experience left an igniting passion within me to take it forward as an ambassador. My aim now is to raise awareness of this life-changing opportunity and support future participants of the programme.

Hi! My name is Summayah and I'm a Pharmacology student with a passion for photography, videography, and all things creative.

Since a young age, I've always enjoyed travelling, communicating with locals, and exploring new cultures - so working abroad in MENA has always been something I've wanted to pursue. My experience on the 2024 WWC Programme in Cairo provided me with insights into the international world of work and aided my professional development and the expansion of my skillset. Networking with alumni and local professionals and creating lifelong connections whilst also immersing in the culture and putting my language skills to use really has prepared me with what to expect when working abroad in the future. By becoming an ambassador, I can share some of my valuable experiences and tips to other students in a similar stage, whilst also giving back to the programme and community which provided me with this genuinely life-changing opportunity.

Hi! I’m Alisha Khan and am currently a first-year Architecture BA student.

Partaking in the Cairo WWC trip was truly a transformative journey for me. I was able to enhance my transferable skillset through interacting with professionals in a range of sectors whilst solidifying my desire to work internationally. I hope to use my position as a WWC Ambassador to ignite the same curiosity and motivation I had before WWC in other students, pushing them out of their comfort zones. I’m thrilled at the prospect of contributing to the Westminster Working Culture initiative and giving back to the programme that has aided me in my professional growth. I look forward to motivating other students and sharing my perspective on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that should be experienced by all!

Hi! I am Abdul Aliyyu. I was born in the Maldives, and I moved here when I was 10. I am a first-year student, I reside mostly at the Cavendish campus but do occasionally visit the Regents street campus gym. Some of my hobbies are reading, rowing, and playing The Last of Us.

Recently, I had the privilege of participating in the WWC Cairo programme, an experience that left me in awe. The history and the culture were so rich in Cairo, and I hope to someday be able to go again. I gained valuable experience on work life and making connections through networking. I am now striving to being a WWC ambassador because I believe that I can share my experiences with others because it offers a remarkable avenue for personal growth. I hope that I can give back to fellow students to ensure that they are able to learn about a culture new to them and to make lifelong friendships whilst doing so.
