Knowledge exchange services

Discover how you can collaborate with our world-leading experts on research-driven solutions for your organisation.

What is knowledge exchange?

Knowledge exchange brings together your goals and our academic expertise to share ideas, evidence, research and skills.

By collaborating on a project, we can help you identify, plan and deliver practical, research-driven solutions that create meaningful impact.

Services we offer

Our knowledge exchange services are designed to help you gain valuable insights and achieve measurable outcomes.

Collaboration can be tailored to your needs and includes end-to-end support from an expert in your industry.

If you’re a private, public or third-sector organisation, you can commission targeted research from us to gain new knowledge relevant to your sector.

These insights can help you identify solutions to problems, create new products or improve existing ones.

You can work with us on a joint research project that combines your skills and knowledge with our expertise to solve a challenge.

A key benefit of this service is that we can help you identify government or EU funding you may be able to access to cover some of the project costs.

You can work with us on a strategic project through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) – a well-established scheme from Innovate UK.

A KTP is designed to boost your competitiveness, productivity and profitability by applying our specialist expertise directly to your challenges.

Each partnership includes:

  • a qualified graduate working with your organisation to deliver the project
  • an academic expert providing specialist knowledge and strategic guidance
  • part-funding from Innovate UK

We have a strong track record of successful KTPs and can guide you through every stage.

You can draw on our existing knowledge to solve problems or unlock opportunities without the need for new research.

This could involve:

  • delivering a focused project with clear outcomes
  • designing, testing or evaluating your products, systems or services
  • developing technology, processes or methodologies
  • providing tailored advice based on knowledge developed at the University
  • delivering specialist training
  • resolving technical issues

Client feedback

Working with the University has been transformative. Their academic leadership and expertise have guided our product development and improved the way we diagnose and treat illness in people living with obesity.
