Whether you're looking for your first graduate role, a part-time job to fit around your studies, applying for a postgraduate course or just plain confused about what you want to do in the future, we are here to help.
Our dedicated Careers Consultants can give you 1-2-1 advice and help you make the most of the opportunities and support services available across the University.
Short Careers Consultations
These advice sessions give you the opportunity to obtain feedback and advice on CVs, application forms, interviews and other career concerns.
Appointments can be made from midday on the day before you wish to attend, and last for 20 minutes. Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment starts and bring printed copies of your CV or other documents you'd like advice on.
To book a short consultation – go to Engage and book yourself in for an available slot.
Long Careers Consultations
These appointments are 45 minutes long and provide in-depth careers advice.
We ask that you attend a quick query session before booking a long consultation. We are happy for you to attend up to 4 long consultations per year (4 in any 365 day period).
You can book your appointment via Engage. (Note: Undergraduate students are required to attend a short consultation before they are able to book long consultations. Graduates and postgraduate students are able to book a long consultation without the need to book a short consultation first.)
We can also conduct these appointments via Skype or telephone if you would prefer. Please choose the appropriate option when making your booking and provide a number or SkypeID for us to call you on.
Ask a question
If you are studying part-time or have difficulty booking an appointment, you can get feedback and advice on your CV, application, interview preparation and other career concerns via the Ask a Question section of Engage. Simply type your question, add any attachments that you feel we will need to see and we’ll be in touch with a response within 5 working days.
