Westminster Business School brings together education and industry by promoting work-based learning. We offer a flexible range of well-established placement and internship options to match your short/medium term business needs.

Year-long business placements

  • One-year (48–52 weeks) full-time paid industrial placements to complement the student's degree in areas such as business management, marketing, HR, finance, real estate and construction.
  • Placements start between June-September each year.
  • Full recruitment support available in terms of collating applications and organising interviews for vacancies exclusive to the University of Westminster.

MBA internships

  • Students on our innovative MBA programme are ambitious business professionals from a variety of disciplines.
  • Internships last 2–3 months and can be full-time or part-time. Internships start in May/June.
  • Internships should be paid National Minimum Wage or if unpaid, travel and lunch expenses should be covered.

Postgraduate internships

  • Opportunity to employ our exceptional postgraduate business students, experienced professionals who have already held positions of responsibility overseas or in the UK.
  • Part time internships 14–20 hours from 6–12 weeks term time and full/part-time during the summer.
  • Internships should be paid National Minimum Wage or if unpaid, travel and lunch expenses should be covered.

FinTech internships

  • Students on our MSc FinTech with Business Analytics programme are studying topics such as Banking Technology, Blockchain Technologies & Cryptocurrencies, and Big Data Theory.
  • Students are seeking opportunities to gain valuable career skills to make them work-ready for a future in this exciting area of finance. Internships should be with an external organisation that is in financial services or has interests broadly related to this subject area.
  • Maximum duration of the internship is 12 weeks. Internships take place from June until the end of August.
  • Internships should be paid National Minimum Wage or if unpaid, travel and lunch expenses should be covered.

International undergraduate internships

  • Study abroad students from reputable universities in the USA and the rest of the world opt to complement their academic studies with a voluntary work internship.
  • Internships are part-time at 14 hours a week, unpaid (with travel expenses) and last for three months. There are two cohorts each academic year, the first in September and then January. Candidates study a variety of disciplines ranging from finance and marketing to fashion and media.
  • Previous employers have also been able to bring a new dimension to projects by tapping into our students’ cultural knowledge, language skills and international experience.

Short-term work placements for property students

  • Two-week (70 hours) work experience for second year undergraduate students of Real Estate.
  • Placements take place between May and September.
  • Paid or unpaid (with travel and lunch expenses), and either full or part-time.
