29 Marylebone Road

We're developing an exciting new space that will connect our diverse student talent with the world of business and the local community, creating new jobs, enterprises and collaborations.

A centre for employability and enterprise

We've started a significant renovation project to transform our 29 Marylebone Road site into a new hub for employability and enterprise.

The nine-storey building will be open to Westminster students, colleagues, alumni, businesses and the local community, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where collaboration is encouraged and valued.

As part of the development, we've secured a £5.8m grant from the Office for Students (OfS) to help build innovative training spaces within the building.

The transformative space will provide a new, modern facility for the University and local area.

The building's official name will be confirmed soon.

Construction

Renovations will take place throughout 2024 and 2025.

Opening date

The building's opening is expected in late 2025.

A space for collaboration

The centre will foster influential connections and collaborations, empowering our students to address key industry challenges.

Businesses and organisations will be able to work with students on live briefs, provide job opportunities and deliver inspirational events and activities.

Students will be supported to start and grow enterprises, and the local community will have access to training and networking opportunities.

A range of innovative facilities will be provided, including:

  • creative spaces to support collaboration and engagement with local businesses
  • event and exhibition spaces to showcase student enterprise and achievements
  • state-of-the-art training facilities, including a digital studio and maker space

Connecting education with industry

Inform

We'll use the space to share knowledge about the world of work and help business leaders access our student talent.

Involve

By bringing students, academics, businesses and organisations together, the space will create unique opportunities and connections.

Inspire

The space will fuel progress for our students to reach further in their careers, and businesses to connect with a more diverse workforce.

The building is set to become the UK's most inclusive centre for employability and enterprise, with accessibility and sustainability at its heart.

Students and graduates will be equipped with the skills, connections and experiences needed to secure jobs and create businesses.

It will support the local community by connecting industry with emerging talent and upskilling residents.

By bridging the gap between education and the business world, we’ll be able to create game-changing opportunities for the next generation.
