The University of Westminster is proud to have established a partnership with Shaftesbury, a FTSE 250-listed real estate investment trust.

The company has generously awarded £30,000 to support a Westminster student from a disadvantaged economic background studying the Real Estate BSc course. The scholarship alleviates all financial barriers to education.

This partnership will add to Shaftesbury’s ongoing work towards creating opportunities for marginalised or disadvantaged young people wanting to advance in the property sector.

Nathan Probert, BSc Honours in Real Estate, was one of the students who was able to benefit from this scholarship.

Being the first recipient of the Shaftesbury scholarship is a truly life-changing moment.

"The upcoming summer internship with Shaftesbury will allow me to apply my university studies to the workplace, help me make informed career decisions and prepare me for full-time work in the property industry.

In addition, the significant economic support provided as part of the programme has alleviated financial pressures and allowed me to stop working part-time to fully dedicate myself to my degree.

Since my involvement with Shaftesbury, I have been in regular contact with them regarding my studies and have been supplied with vital resources that have helped me improve my grades already.

Overall, this amazing opportunity has transformed my university experience."
