Enrolment and module registration

Enrolment

At the start of each academic year, every student must complete the enrolment process. As a current student, you'll receive an email in August (to your University email account) inviting you to enrol online.

If you're a student with a disability and you require specific assistance during enrolment, get in touch with your School Registry Office, indicating the sort of help that you need.

Online enrolment is quick and simple, but if you have any problems, visit our Enrolment Help pages or get in touch with your School Registry Office.

Note: You will not be able to enrol online if:

  • your mode of attendance for the forthcoming academic year is 'PTR' (module retriever) - check SRSWeb for your mode of attendance. You will need to enrol in person at the University - your School Registry Office will email you with details before the new academic year. You should also check your School Registry Blackboard site for any announcements or information about module retriever enrolment.
  • you are a student on a part-time course and have not yet selected/been allocated your modules for the new academic year. If you know which modules you would like to select, complete the Module Registration Form and submit it to your School Registry Office. If you need further guidance, contact your School Registry Office. Make sure you also check your School Registry Blackboard site for any announcements or information about enrolment for part-time students.

Module registration

Detailed information on module registration is available on your School Registry Blackboard site, where you will also find:

  • opening and closing dates of online module registration
  • guidance on using the online module registration system
  • information on module registration procedures for module retrievers, part-time students and post-graduates

Full-time undergraduate students

The majority of full-time undergraduate students will need to complete their module registration online and will be invited to do so by their School Registry Offices. Registration online opens each year in March/April, and modules are selected for the following academic year, eg you select your 2012/13 modules in March/April 2012. Note that your core modules will automatically be registered, so you will only need to select your option and free choice modules online.

Some full-time undergraduate students will need to register their modules by completing a Module Registration Form - your School Registry Office will email you with details, but please also check your School Registry Blackboard site regularly.

If your School Registry Office advises you to complete the Module Registration Form, please note that you will need to list all your modules for the next year on the form, ie your core, option, and free choice modules.

Module retrievers

If you are a module retriever (ie your current mode of attendance is PTR on SRSWeb), you will not be able to use the online module registration system and will need to attend a module registration session in person at the University. Your School Registry Office will email you with details. Make sure you also check your School Registry Blackboard site for any announcements or information about module registration.

Part-time students

Online module registration is available for some part-time courses - your School Registry Office will email you with details on registering your modules, but make sure you also check your School Registry Blackboard site regularly for any updates on module registration.

Postgraduate students

Online module registration is available for some postgraduate courses - your School Registry Office will email you with details on registering your modules. You should also check your School Registry Blackboard site regularly for updates on module registration.
