Entry requirements

If you are applying for a Bachelor degree (eg BA, BSc, BEng and LLB) at Westminster, you will be required to meet the English Language requirements and will typically have one of the following qualifications:

Qualification Leads to entry into
Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) – The Malaysia Higher School Certificate with grades A-D on a subject-by-subject basis Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) Senior Middle Level with a minimum of 75% Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
Polytechnic Diploma (3 year post SPM/SPMV) Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
Matrikulasi (Matriculation Certificate) GPA 2.0 or above depending on subject Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
Polytechnic Technician Certificate with high grades Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
College Diploma/Certificate (2/3 year post SPM) with high grades Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
Tunku Abdul Rahman College Certificate (2 year post SPM) Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
A recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65% Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)
Institut Teknologi MARA Diploma (3 year post SMP/STPM) with GPA 2.8 or above Possibly year 2 of Bachelors degrees (Level 5)
Tunku Abdul Rahman College Diploma (3 year post STPM) Possibly year 2 of Bachelors degrees (Level 5)
UK Higher National Diploma (HND) with Distinctions and Merits Possibly year 2 of Bachelors degrees (Level 5)

If you are applying for a Masters (eg MA, MSc and LLM) or research (eg MPhil and PhD) programme at Westminster, you will be required to meet the English Language requirements and will typically have one of the following qualifications:

  • Malaysian Bachelors degree from a recognised institution with a minimum GPA of 2.8, depending on subject area
  • College Diploma plus three to five years relevant work experienceIf you have five to seven years relevant work experience, we may consider you without a Bachelor degree on an individual basis for some Masters programmes.

Short study programmes

Our Study Abroad programme offers degree students the opportunity to study with us for one or two semesters or to join the International Summer School for three to six weeks.
