Sociology at the University of Westminster is celebrating a remarkable success in the 2015 National Student Survey, with an overall student satisfaction rating of 100%.
Dr Atef Alshaer, Lecturer in Arabic Language and Culture, acted as consultant for the BBC Radio 4 programme Poems from Syria.
In light of the ongoing European migration crisis, the University of Westminster will be hosting a two-day conference on 18-19 September organised by the charity Migrant Voice in partnership with the University’s new Westminster Migration Network Group. The conference will host discussions about migration and Europe’s response to the humanitarian crisis. It will provide a platform for academics and journalists to share their perspectives on the current debate, and to hear accounts from migrants.
A University of Westminster PhD student has brought the story of pioneer Afghan cameleers in Australia to a global audience in a new BBC World Service radio documentary.
Dr Louise Sylvester and Dr Sara Pons-Sanz, from the Department of English, Linguistics and Cultural Studies, have both been awarded major research grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
