Step 2: Enrolment session at the University

Your enrolment session is the final stage of enrolment and it’s crucial that you attend this, as well as the orientation sessions that are organised for you.

We’ll send you an email to let you know when your enrolment and orientation timetable is available online.

During this stage, you’ll get your student ID card and can then start accessing our various sites and facilities. You’ll find out more about your course, timetable, and the important resources, services and facilities available to you. It’s also a good chance to find out who else is on your course and start making new friends.

Library and IT Services orientation talks

At the beginning of your course your lecturer will have arranged for you to meet Library and IT staff so they can tell you about the services they provide. This will be built into your induction programme and you do not need to do anything about this.

Enrolment and orientation session timetables

Visit your faculty page to find the enrolment information for your course. Links will be visible here when the information becomes available.

What will happen at my enrolment session?

At your enrolment session, you’ll need to:

  • show us your enrolment form (the form you printed when you completed online pre-enrolment)
  • show us proof of your identity - you must provide one of the following:
    • a full, valid UK, EU or EES passport
    • Non-EU/EEA passport PLUS a visa valid for study
    • If you do not have access to any of these documents, please contact our compliance department to find out if alternative evidence can be accepted - [email protected]
  • pay your fees, if you’re a self-funding student
  • show us original copies (not photocopies) of your certificates for courses/exams that do not have a status of ‘verified’ or ‘verified UCAS’ on your enrolment form

Note: You don’t need to bring a photo for your student ID card – we’ll be taking a digital photo of you on the day.

International students

If you’re an international student, you’ll need to:

  • bring your original visa and a photocopy of it for our records
  • bring your passport
  • show us original copies (not photocopies) of your certificates for courses/exams that do not have a status of ‘verified’ or ‘verified UCAS’ on your enrolment form
  • pay your fees

Paying your fees

If the Student Loans Company (SLC) will be paying your fees, you’ll need to bring the SLC confirmation letter to your enrolment session.

If you’re a self-funding student and you will not be paying your fees online, you’ll need to pay at your enrolment session.
