Support for LGBT students

Being a student, whether an undergraduate or postgraduate, can be a stressful time. LGBT students may have additional concerns, such as worries about coming out, or reconciling their sexuality with their identity and/or gender.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex society (LGBTI)

The LGBTI Society aims to raise awareness among Westminster students, support relevant campaigns and offer support to its members. The society also organises regular social events, providing students with a supportive social network during their time at the university.

Get in touch with the LGBTI Society at [email protected].

The Careers Centre can also offer advice and guidance on your rights as an LGBT person entering the workplace. It offers an online diversity guide, and the Careers Library has multiple copies of ‘Starting Out’ published by Stonewall, the lesbian, gay and bisexual equality charity.

The library has books on LGBT subjects which you might find useful.

The Counselling Service offers confidential support to students experiencing a range of difficulties.
