Each year, hundreds of Westminster students volunteer to support charitable causes that matter to them. If you're interested in volunteering, the Careers and Employability Service is here to help you.

Volunteering is as diverse as the millions of people who do it. Find out about the different types of volunteering. So, whatever your background or interests, there’s bound to be something that’s a great fit. Westminster volunteers include new undergraduates, experienced postgraduates, and everything in between.

Please read the below testimonials from Westminster students. Through volunteering, our students have made significant contributions not only to their own development but also for the benefit of society and the creation of a better world for us all.

If you're new to volunteering, browse through our latest volunteering opportunities via EngageGo to jobs page on Engage and see what you are interested in doing.

Recognising your achievements

To record your volunteering contributions and achievements, please complete the recognition form.

We are proud of our students who have volunteered and recognise their achievements through the following means:

Certificate of Achievement

All student volunteers, irrespective of the number of hours you've completed, or the type of volunteering, are eligible for a Certificate of Achievement.

Westminster Employability Award

If you've completed a minimum of 3 hours of volunteering, on and off campus, you'll be eligible to apply for recognition of this through the Westminster Employability Award.

Student Volunteer of the Year

As part of the annual Employability Awards Celebration in June, you'll also have the opportunity to nominate yourself as Student Volunteer of the Year.

Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR)

The Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR) is a formal degree transcript that provides a full record of your university achievements, including both academic and extra-curricular learning and experience. Volunteering is one of the extracurricular activities that you can have recorded on your HEAR. Only 25 hours or more of volunteering can be recorded on the HEAR.
