How we support students with assessments
When you register with our team, together we’ll clarify what support you may need, including adjustments for assessments, such as in-class tests, exams and presentations.
These include adjustments such as extra time, rest breaks and doing your assessment together with a smaller number of students. For more details, please see our Support page.
Adjustments for exams in January 2018
If you don’t have adjustments for exams and think you need this, please contact us before 1 November 2017. Please let us know what support you think you need and if we don’t already have this, provide us with supporting documentation (e.g. letter from your GP). Please get in touch as soon as possible if you have any questions about this.
Please note, if you contact us after the 1 November 2017 deadline, it’s unlikely we’ll be able to put any adjustments in place for the upcoming exam period.
What to do if you can’t sit or submit your assessment
If you’re not able to sit/submit an assessment, please submit a Mitigating Circumstances Claim.
Please note the university has a ‘fit to sit’ policy, you can find out more about this on the Mitigating Circumstances page. If you become unwell during an exam and are not able to continue, please let your invigilator know.
Please contact your Faculty Registry if you have any questions about this.
What to do if you have a temporary condition
If you have a temporary condition, for example, a shoulder injury, please complete the Request for Individual Exam Arrangements for Temporary Conditions Form (PDF).
If you have any questions about this please contact your Faculty Registry.
