Talent Bank roles

The number and types of opportunities available via the Talent Bank vary from year to year, month to month, below are some examples of Talent Bank roles that may come up throughout the year.

Admin Assistant

Departments in the University sometimes require extra assistance with a variety of administration and clerical duties such as data entry, event organisation, communication etc.

Contract length: Variable.  Rate of pay: National Minimum Wage or London Living Wage.

Library Shelving Assistant

Shelving assistants work in each of the four Westminster Libraries. Often working on your own, you will be required to undertake re-shelving of the Library material, shelf tidying, clearing tables and book boxes and basic user queries to ensure the smooth running of the service. Although the work can be physically demanding, it is an important part of our service.

Working hours run throughout the Academic year, these are flexible and depend on demand. Working hours fall within the core staffed hours on weekdays only

Contract length: Variable.  Rate of pay: London Living Wage.

Receptionists

Across the University there are a number of receptionist roles, meeting and greeting clients or students, dealing with initial enquires and taking on basic office/administrative tasks.
The length of contract, hours and rate of pay for these roles varies depending on the department and the location.

Research Project Assistant

Research Fellows or Departments in the University sometimes require extra assistance with a variety of research projects. The tasks involved vary from role to role.

Contract length: Variable. Rate of pay: London Living Wage or £12 per hour.

Social Media Assistant

Different departments in the university are looking for social media assistants to regularly update social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Some departments require Social Media Assistants to write blog posts. The tasks involved vary from role to role.

Contract length: Variable. Rate of pay: National Minimum Wage to £12 per hour.

Summer Residential Coordinators

Every Summer the University of Westminster Halls of Residence operate as hotels and in order to provide a hotel services and take on extra student staff on the reception desks within the Halls but also at the head office to help to manage the bookings. Working 20 hours a week during term time.

Contract length: April – September. Rate of pay: London Living Wage.
