Appointments with a Learning Adviser

You can book a 45-minute one-to-one appointment with a Learning Adviser to look at a range of issues, including:

  • structuring and clarifying your written ideas and arguments
  • delivering effective presentations
  • undertaking literature reviews and dissertations
  • time management and effective study techniques

The appointment can be one-to-one, or for a group of up to six students.

Please note: this is not a proof-reading service and we do not provide subject tuition.

Royal Literary Fund Fellow in Harrow

Caitlin Davies offers academic writing advice on improving your writing and expressive skills. She does not provide English grammar support.

Caitlin is a novelist, non-fiction author, short story writer and journalist. Her five novels include The Ghost of Lily Painter, while her most recent non-fiction is Downstream: a history and celebration of swimming the River Thames.

Ali Knight provides academic and writing advice on improving your writing and expressive skills. She does not provide English grammar support.

Ali is a novelist and national newspaper journalist. Her four standalone crime novels include Wink Murder, published in 11 languages and turned into a television script, and The First Cut, which the Telegraph called "one of the top ten crime novels to take on holiday". Specialist Study Skills Adviser

The specialist Media, Arts and Design Study Skills Adviser, Rosey Briggs McCracken, works with those students who have additional study support needs such as dyslexia. Rosey also works with students who are returning to studies later in life or who may have difficulties with the fundamentals of academic writing and study skills techniques.

Rosey offers one to one appointments in Library Meeting Room 2 on Mondays only between 10am and 5pm and her tel. ext. is 68265.
