Work experience in a school classroom

Teaching in a classroom

Are you considering a teaching career? If you are exploring teaching or planning your PGCE application, you should have experience in a school classroom of at least 2 weeks.

The UoW Associates in Schools scheme gives you the invaluable experience of working in a school for 15 days, as a teaching assistant within your specialist subject area or age group.

The placement can be completed in weekly blocks or in instalments (eg. one day per week), while continuing your studies. Placements will start from September 2016 onwards.

The experience prompted me to apply for a PGCE! Thanks again for arranging the UWAS experience. It was invaluable and has deeply broadened my understanding of the teaching profession’ UWAS Alumni

Application deadline: 31st May for intake 1 (2016-17)
