Work experience in a school classroom

13 January 2016

Are you considering a teaching career? If you are exploring teaching or planning your PGCE application, you should have experience in a school classroom of at least two weeks. The UoW Associates in Schools scheme gives you the invaluable experience of working as a volunteer teaching assistant in a secondary school for 15 days.

Places are available in English, maths, science and modern languages. You must have A level grade C or above in the relevant subject.

The placement will take place in the school summer term, starting either in April or after exams.

‘The experience prompted me to apply for a PGCE! Thanks again for arranging the UWAS experience. It was invaluable and has deeply broadened my understanding of the teaching profession’ – UWAS Alumni.

Application deadline: 28 January. Visit our Schools Placement page for more information and how to apply.
