Available to: Students in all faculties, however some courses already include cross-disciplinary modules and are structured to offer opportunities to expand professional skills. Students on these courses are unable to choose Westminster Plus Electives – check the list of courses.

This Westminster Plus Elective module will introduce students to the reflective, transformative and empowering communication tools of mentoring and coaching, and how you can use these to develop your personal and professional abilities and potential. The module will support you as you progress through the key transition phases of your University experience, providing you with valuable transferable skills that can be taken into Level 6.
The module will help to foster your global career focus and future leadership capability, and offers career advancement opportunities, higher levels of career maturity and greater potential for job satisfaction. You will develop your understanding of mentoring and coaching communication skills in the workplace, and your critical awareness of the value of coaching and mentoring for personal and professional development. However, it’s important to note that you will not become a fully qualified coach or mentor by completing the module.
Learning and teaching will involve lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations and independent study. Assessment is through group presentations, a reflective commentary and your portfolio of evidence.
