Westminster Working Cultures (WWC) is a University-wide initiative designed to enhance the employability of Westminster students, through utilising the support of our global network of alumni and partners.

The WWC programme features the following activities, which offer fully funded short-term mobility opportunities to several global destinations, as well as local programmes and skills development opportunities in the UK:

WWC has been running since 2017 when the first group of students travelled to Hong Kong where they undertook a combination of work shadowing, seminars and workshops offered by Westminster alumni.

The programme is run by the Westminster Working Cultures team within the Alumni Relations Office who work closely with partner institutions and alumni based in London and major cities around the world to support students to experience the local working culture and gain insights to help them on their professional journey.

This initiative, which leverages the support of the University of Westminster's global network of alumni and partners, has provided me with unique insights and skills that will undoubtedly impress potential employers. Engaging with the speakers has allowed me to expand my professional network significantly. These connections will be essential in the job search process and throughout my career, as they offer guidance, advice and potential job referrals.

- Samar Khan, Business Management (Marketing) BA Honours student

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

At the University of Westminster, our employability initiatives are designed to offer our students experiences that help develop skills that set you up for the work place, and give you access to industry.

The majority of our initiatives are available to all: a number of others have been designed to support specific groups. These are groups that we recognise as underrepresented, both in industry and as participants in our programmes.

Equality of opportunity does not always mean that everyone has access to the same things. It can entail creating a level playing field by offering some opportunities to those who have had less access to them.

In addition to our targeted programmes, our Careers and Employability Service has a huge range of programmes that are open to all students. We hope to see you at one of our many events or programmes very soon.
