We’d love you to join us too, and there’s still time to apply through Clearing.

If you’ve already found your perfect course you can apply now - visit our Clearing page to find out how.

Or you can search our Courses in Clearing page to find the course for you.

What is Clearing?

Clearing is part of the UK’s university application process. It helps students find and apply for a university place if they haven't already secured one.

If you're an international student looking to start an undergraduate course with us this September, you may be able to get a place through Clearing.

During Clearing, we advertise courses that have places available. In some subjects, we may consider applicants who have achieved slightly lower grades than our standard entry requirements.

If you already have your results and you know which course you want to study, you can apply now! Find out how to apply on our Clearing page.

You can find a list of the courses available in clearing on our Courses in Clearing page.

Please note, you can only apply through Clearing if you aren’t currently holding an offer in UCAS, the UK’s university application system.

See all courses in Clearing.

The list of courses available in Clearing changes regularly, so if you see a course you’d like to study, apply as soon as you can. More courses may be added later, so keep checking through the coming weeks.

EU/EEA students apply through clearing in the same way as other international or UK students. Find out more about visas and fee status for EU/EEA nationals.

Please visit our Fees and Funding section for further details of tuition fees this year as well as our EU Qualifications Welcome Awards Scheme. This Scheme supports students starting their undergraduate course with us in September 2021 at level 3 (Foundation) or level 4 (first year), who are accepted on their programme based on an eligible EU qualification. It is important to note that eligibility for this award is not based on nationality, but on qualification.

Clearing is for undergraduate courses, but if you are a postgraduate applicant we are open for recruitment for September 2021 and January 2022.

Find postgraduate courses and apply now.

Entry requirements are often given in terms of A Levels or IB scores, but we accept a wide range of international qualifications.

See your country page for guidance on qualifications we usually accept and an indication of grades, remembering that these may be different during the Clearing period. If you can’t find your qualifications, please contact us.

Individual course pages will tell you any additional entry requirements for the specific programme.

We work in partnership with a range of International Foundation providers, providing progression on to our degree programmes for those students from different education systems, or who are changing subject area and need support.

For these courses you do not need to use our Clearing form and can apply directly to our partners.

On application you’ll receive an email with instructions for submitting a portfolio. Courses requiring a portfolio may take longer to reach a decision as the portfolio will need to be assessed.

For September 2021 entry, our standard undergraduate Bachelor's degrees will require IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component, or an equivalent examination such as TOEFL, PASSWORD or PTE. Some courses may have different requirements which are listed under the entry requirements on the course page.

The University recognises a number of different English Qualifications as demonstrating proof of English language ability. This includes the English Language component of most EU/EEA high school qualifications, IB and some Indian Standard XII Boards. To find out more check our list of accepted English language exams or you can check your country page for requirements for your country.

Don’t have your English qualification yet?

If you have all your other results, but require an English exam and don’t yet have it, the University runs the PASSWORD Solo English Test. Book your PASSWORD SOLO Test online or please contact us at for information about other tests that may be available through the University.

We work with education agents in the UK and around the world. Please visit your country page for information about local agents. They will be able to assist you with your application and the visa process.

Our country pages have contact details for our agents in your country who can help you to apply and support you through the visa process. Further information about student visas is also available on our visas and advice pages.
