Westminster Graduate School announces new £1m doctoral scholarship programme

18 August 2015

The University of Westminster has launched a new £1 million programme of fully funded doctoral scholarships.

Applications are now being invited for up to 20 studentships, to commence in January 2016 on a full-time basis. Each scholarship covers a stipend of £16,000 pa, plus full tuition fee.

“This presents a unique opportunity for highly motivated doctoral researchers to join our dedicated research teams across our five Faculties”, states Professor Simon Joss, Director of the Graduate School, “and to be part of the innovative, high-quality research for which the University is renowned both nationally and internationally.”

Eligible candidates for the scholarships are invited to apply for specified project areas across our five Faculties.

In addition to undertaking doctoral research on an approved programme of study, candidates will be expected to undertake up to six hours a week assisting with teaching or other academic duties.

In line with the University’s standard entry requirements, applicants should hold or expect to be awarded a 2.1 Honours degree or above and preferably a Masters degree and should, where relevant, demonstrate English Language competence of at least IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Closing date for applications is 5pm, 30 September 2015.
