I have been working as an EFL teacher since 2002 right after my graduation from Tomsk State Pedagogical University. My first place of work was Tomsk Agricultural Institute where I was involved in General English course among 1st- and 2nd-year students of the faculties of Law, Economy, Agronomy, and Hunting. In 2005, I started working in Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU). My learners were 1st-, 2nd-, and 3d-year students of the faculties of Economy, Physics, and Electrical Engineering.  By that time, I had expanded my teaching scope and in addition to General English turned to English for Specific Purposes (ESP). In 2012, I was first engaged in a course of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) among TPU academics. Since then, it became a longstanding pedagogical practice for me. In 2016, I joined Research Centre Kairos to continue my work with academics from various Tomsk universities and research intstitutes.

- Teaching English to students at all university levels (General English, Exam Training, EAP course, ESP course)

- Teaching English to academic staff (Exam Training, EAP course)

- Participating in telecollaboration student projects functioning as a project coordinator and an EFL teacher

My research career started with a doctoral programme on TEFL at TPU. My thesis was dedicated to the ways of learner autonomy development among engineering students while language teaching and learning. In 2013, I was awarded a PhD equivalent in Pedagogy.

My work with Russian academics bacame a stimulus for me to think about my PhD at a British University as a tool to enhance my own development. In January 2016, I made a successful attempt to become a doctoral student at the University of Sheffield (Sheffield, UK). One year later, I transferred to the University of Westminster (London, UK) following my supervisor Professor Terry Lamb. We are looking for the ways to help Russian academics get integrated into the worldwide academia.

I have published and presented in a number of areas (learner autonomy, adult and lifelong learning, ICT use in TEFL, continuous professional development) in Belarus, China, Poland, Russia, UK, Ukraine.

I worked as a  project coordinator and a member of the editorial board in collaboration projects with Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences Journal, Elsevier (2015) and Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing Journal, Springer, (2017) aimed at producing books of conference proceedings.

I also worked as a coordinator in a collaboration project with Nature Research (2017).
