Managing long-term conditions
Our research explores the ways in which people make sense of long-term conditions, make health care choices and evaluate their treatment.
A key objective of these projects is to inform healthcare provision through better understanding the experiences of having specific long-term conditions. Projects include a range of patient groups, from children and adolescents with arthritis and haemoglobinopathies to older people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Current projects include an exploration of the psychosocial impact of living with alopecia (with Alan Porter).
