Iram Sial, Careers Consultant at the University of Westminster, was a panel member for the Guardian's live webinar Vacation vocations: careers in tourism and leisure on 3 July, advising Guardian users on careers in the travel and tourism industry.

In her role at Westminster, Iram is responsible for advising tourism, leisure, construction and property students on prospective careers. She also has extensive experience in managing placements and internships for students at Westminster Business School.

Her fellow panelists included Peter Grunert, editor of Lonely Planet Traveller magazine and Nicola Wilton, HR director at Hilton Worldwide. Though the industry was well-represented, Iram was the only representative from the higher education sector, which made her unique perspective on careers advice really stand out.

In the discussion Iram advised a wide variety of people on careers in the leisure and tourism industry, including students, graduates, people already in the sector looking to advance their careers and people wanting to transition into the industry.

The live discussion received enthusiastic responses from Guardian readers and twitter followers, and has been published on their website.
