Join a global experiment in online deliberation
17 December 2018
Professor Graham Smith at the Centre for the Study of Democracy is leading a global experiment to test new platforms for commenting on news online. The project aims to help promote humility in public discourse and prevent digital harassment and trolling. The lessons from this project will be useful for broader democratic innovation.
You can sign up for the experiment on the We Dialogue website.
The experiment will start in January and run for 3 weeks. Anyone can join, but we have limited places so you’ll need to register quickly.
All you have to do during the experiment is fill out a survey and then read and comment on new articles as if it was a normal online newspaper or blog. You won’t know which experimental group you’ve been assigned to. But at the end, you will be able to see what the other groups experienced.
Please share this link with anyone who you think would be interested in participating – fellow students, friends or family.
