CIOB awards

Congratulations to Construction students Hussain Tawanaee and Joshua Marshall, who were recently nominated by the Department of Property and Construction for the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Certificate of Excellence Award.

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 9 November at The Euston Square Hotel and Conference Centre, where both Hussain and Josh were declared winners.

CIOB–accredited institutions are able to award their top performing students a CIOB Certificate of Excellence Award. This is awarded at the discretion of the teaching staff, and students can be selected for reasons such as best dissertation or for achieving a first-class degree.

Joshua Marshall, who studied the Construction Management BSc, was nominated for achieving a first-class degree and for continuous improvement throughout his course and professional career development.

Construction student, Hussain Tawanaee, awarded CIOB Certificate of Excellence

Hussain Tawanaee, who went on to study on the Construction Project Management MSc, was nominated in recognition of a first-class undergraduate degree and for his role as President of the Construction Society. In this role, he has built close links with professional bodies and employers, and has set up networking events, invited guest speakers and orchestrated site visits, all of which has greatly enhanced the student experience.
