Dr Andrew Smith addresses Parks and Green Spaces Forum
20 September 2016
The Forum involves representatives from various London Boroughs and other city wide organisations such as The Royal Parks. Andrew published a book earlier this year about the way our public spaces are increasingly used for events, and over the summer he wrote about some of these issues in a contribution for The Conversation. For the past few months he has been examining some high profile London cases and he presented a series of recommendations emanating from this research to members of the Forum.
Andrew has now been invited to join an Action Group looking at the issues surrounding park events. This has been formed partly in response to disputes over the legality and impact of large scale events staged in London’s parks.
