The University has risen to 81st place in the UK in the 2019 Guardian University League Table published today.

The University of Westminster is delighted to have received its highest ranking in ten years, rising to 81st position, up from 108th last year and 112nd in 2017.

In addition to the overall rise, ten of our 22 subjects are ranked in the top half of institutions delivering those subjects. Hospitality, Event Management & Tourism has risen 24 places to be in the top 10 of institutions delivering this subject in the UK and 18 of our 22 subjects have risen in ranking this year.

We are also in joint third position amongst London universities for our value added. The score, which compares students’ degree results with their entry qualifications, is demonstrative of our teaching excellence and the difference Westminster makes to students.

Improved performance in our graduate employment in last year’s DLHE results has made a significant contribution to the University’s rising league table scores.

The annual Guardian University Guide ranks all the universities in the UK and includes tables relating to 54 subject areas. Aimed primarily at students, the guide uses a series of factors including the National Student Survey, the Destination of Leavers of Higher Education results, our staff to student ratio, entry tariffs and our annual spend-per-student.

For the first time this year the Guardian have included a continuation score, looking at the percentage of first-year students continuing at university and moving into their second year. It does not include research scores.

The University is extremely grateful to all colleagues for your ongoing work to deliver an excellent student experience, high quality teaching and the best outcomes for our graduates.
