Graduate Robyn Lynch to show with Fashion East in January’s London Fashion Week
Fashion 23 November 2018
Born in Dublin, Robyn takes inspiration from her Irish heritage. Her graduate collection employed technical knits alongside the green, white and orange of Ireland’s flag. It was described as an “exploration of Irish heritage and craft”.
Her aesthetic is comfortable, traditional and tonal, developing ideas of menswear wardrobe. She has held roles at Phoebe English and Cottweiler. In a recent interview with Vogue, she commented on her Fall 2019 collection: “It’s going to be an exercise in focus and execution of my signature silhouettes. I’m continuing to champion knits, block colors and a hint of patriotism.”
On being part of Fashion East, she said: “Coming from Ireland, the fashion world in London sometimes felt out of reach – upon moving over and studying my masters in London, all of these opportunities which once felt so far away were suddenly a possibility.”
Liliana Sanguino, Course Leader for the Menswear MA, said: “It is incredible for our first graduates to follow Robyn’s achievement showing with Fashion East. Her very strong collection showed off her aesthetic perfectly and I am certain we can expect more great things from Robyn’s label over the years to come.”
Fashion East helps designers with business mentoring, financial support and opportunities to show their label. It has helped renowned figures like Jonathan Anderson, Craig Green, Martine Rose, Grace Wales Bonner, Charles Jeffrey and Kim Jones.
