Architecture students win scholarships

Students from the Department of Architecture have been awarded scholarships of £1,000 per project by architectural practice Robin Partington and Partners (RPP) as part of their second annual awards.

The scholarships went to:

  • Zaidoon Adel and Asa Vassallo, second-year Architecture BA students, for their Bending Concrete project
  • Andreea-Laura Nica (pictured), first-year Architecture MArch student, for her project Scherk's Minimal Surface
  • Mihai Chiriac, also first-year Architecture MArch student, for his Elasticity project
  • Kiril Georgiev, a second-year degree student who is currently on the exchange programme in New Zealand, will receive the prize on his return

The winners presented their projects to staff and directors of RPP, which include alumnus Yashin Kemal. Will McLean and Scott Batty, both lecturers from the Department of Architecture, also joined the panel on the day.
