Westminster Business School students reach the semi-finals of the Universities Business Challenge Worldwide

A group of Westminster Business School students have made it to the semi-finals of the Universities Business Challenge (UBC) Worldwide, a competition supported by companies such as IBM, the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), RBS, Procter & Gamble, Jaguar and Land Rover.

UBC Worldwide is the world’s leading undergraduate simulation-based competition, designed to develop employability and enterprise skills. The challenge gives students the opportunity to work as a board of directors in a realistic but fictional company, making all the critical business decisions that affect the company’s performance.

Our students Diana Florescu, Maxim Antoci, Maryam Siddique, Antony Georgiou and Marco Vallozzi applied for the programme and their team have now made to the round 2 semi-finals of the competition. The top 10 teams from the round 2 semi-finals go through to the round 3 grand final, which takes place at IBM’s Southbank office.

The team’s representative Diana Florescu says: “The challenge is a true learning experience. It helps me to improve my understanding of how businesses work, develop my decision-making skills and my team-working abilities, and increase my knowledge in key business areas such as marketing, finance, strategy, production, pricing and human resources”.
