President of Shanghai Media Group to present co-production workshop at the University of Westminster

Television, Film and Moving Image 19 October 2015

Ms Wang Jianjun, President of Shanghai Media Group, will be visiting the University of Westminster to present a workshop entitled Co-production Opportunities in China.

Taking place on Wednesday 21 October, the workshop will consider how co-production between the UK and Chinese TV and performance industries can be increased and improved; how Chinese media policies are changing the commercial environment; and what Chinese TV channels and VOD platforms look for from foreign producers.

The workshop will also feature briefings from policy experts in relevant fields including the China media, its recent policies, and market strategies. Associates from the BBC and Royal Shakespeare Theatre will also participate in the two-hour workshop.

The Shanghai Media Group, under the Shanghai Media and Entertainment Group, is a multimedia television and radio broadcasting, news and internet company.

Organised by Westminster’s China Media Centre, the event will be an opportunity for media companies to share their views on these matters, and help shape the Shanghai Media Group’s future relationship with the UK television industry. It will also provide an overview on what type of content UK production companies can pitch to the SMG’s family of channels.

Places for the Co-production Opportunities in China workshop are limited.

Register to attend.
