Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment launches new postgraduate Excellence Scholarship
26 January 2015
Each year an issue of international significance will provide the focus for the Excellence Scholarship and the 2015 scholarship focuses on design and sustainability. Issues of sustainability are gaining greater prominence in the media and thoughtful design of the built environment is a vital aspect of global development.
Professor David Dernie, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and the Build Environment said, “This innovative series of scholarships will provide selected international students with the chance to engage with leading academics at the University of Westminster. Our excellent courses ensure students develop a robust understanding of the major issues facing the built environment today.”
The expertise at the University’s Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment addresses challenges linked to policy, governance and management of sustainability. The Faculty’s research also promotes innovation in the integration of sustainable practices by encouraging environmental optimisation through design of the physical, social and commercial realms. Our research and commitment to teaching inspires more than 2,000 students to successfully complete their studies at our central London Faculty.
The scholarship will be open to international students from developing countries and to be eligible for the 2015 Architecture and the Built Environment Excellence Scholarship, applicants must hold an offer from one of the following courses: Architecture and Environmental Design MSc, Building Information Management MSc, Interior Design MA, International Planning and Sustainable Development MA, or Urban Design MA.
The theme of the 2016 Architecture and the Built Environment Excellence Scholarship will be announced later this year.
