The end of pay rise?

Angela Wright, Senior Lecturer at Westminster Business School, comments on the latest statistics about pay rises published by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development - CIPD, the professional body for human resources and people development.

According to the CIPD Megatrends report, it's unclear if we'll see above-inflation wage growth in the future. This period of stagnation will have an impact on how companies attract, recruit and retain skilled workers.

In Angela’s opinion, this picture will vary between sectors and job level. People working in the middle levels of service organisations in the public and private sectors are most likely to have below-inflation wage rises.
