Prospective students of TV Production BA and Journalism BA could be eligible for £3000 bursaries

7 March 2014

The Royal Television Society (RTS) has launched its undergraduate bursary scheme offering 20 bursaries of £3,000 (£1,000 per year) to students studying television production and broadcast journalism at accredited British universities, of which the University of Westminster is one.

Successful applicants will also receive free membership to both the RTS and The Hospital Club - a creative arts venue and members club in the heart of London. Applications from prospective students of Television Production BA Honours and Journalism BA Honours are open from 1 March until 31 May 2014.

Theresa Wise, RTS CEO, says “As an educational charity, the RTS created these bursaries with the aim of helping the industry develop new talent, and to help young people get a foot on the ladder. We are looking for talented individuals with a passion for the media. This is a very competitive industry – we know that networks and mentoring are crucial in gaining the experience needed to get a job. In their final year of study, as well as the financial support we plan to offer industry placements or mentoring to all of our bursary recipients.”
