Faculty of Science and Technology hosts Brazilian students through Science without Borders programme
8 April 2014
The students are being sponsored by the Brazilian government under a scheme entitled Science without Borders. The students are studying a full academic year, having joined us in January 2014. During this coming Summer each will be undertaking a substantial individual research project supervised by academic staff from the faculty.
Science without Borders (Ciência sem Fronteiras) is a Brazilian Government scholarship programme which aims to send 101,000 Brazilian students on undergraduate sandwich courses, PhD sandwich courses and full PhDs to study in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and creative industries at top universities around the world.
Science without Borders UK (Ciência sem Fronteiras no Reino Unido) is the first large scale student mobility programme operated in the UK and is supported at the highest levels of UK and Brazil governments. The UK and Brazil are committed to building on this successful programme, developing partnerships between our two governments, higher education institutions and the private sector to support further collaboration between the two countries.
We wish the current students the best of luck with their studies and look forward to welcoming a similar number of new students from Brazil in September 2014.
