University's Oral History Project launched
23 May 2013
Oral History brings to life the past of the University through spoken testimony and stories from alumni of various courses. It includes interviews with Polytechnic secondary schoolboys who studied with us in the 1930s and 1940s (including those evacuated during the Second World War), as well as members of clubs and University staff.
The University’s Archive Services has recorded 50 interviews, which can be listened to by appointment. With the help of the Digital Communications team, 70 excerpts from these interviews are now available online, categorised under different topics for staff, students and the public to explore.
To listen to interview excerpts and find out more about the project, visit our Oral History project webpage.
The project is ongoing and the Archives Team is always looking for new participants. To find out more about the project, get in touch with our Archive Services team, at [email protected]
