Maintenance work will be carried out on IT services from 7am Saturday 13 April to 11:59pm Sunday 14 April 2013. During this time you may notice brief interruptions to some services.

Most interruptions will take place early on Saturday morning and should last no more than a few minutes. Blackboard and Google mail services will not be affected, and Library services should operate as normal.

The maintenance work

We will be carrying out essential systems upgrades and a test of our disaster recovery process, which we would invoke if one of the University's data centres was damaged. We will also be doing some preparatory work for the building works later this year, when we will be improving the energy efficiency and green credentials of our data centres.

Why we have planned maintenance weekends

As part of our commitment to provide you with IT services with minimal disruption, there are three scheduled weekend maintenance periods per year. The completion of this kind of maintenance over weekend periods minimises disruption to teaching and business functions. The dates are planned a year in advance.

The next IT services weekend maintenance period is scheduled for 7am Saturday 27 July to 11:59pm Sunday 28 July 2013.
