Television, Film and Moving Image 4 April 2011

SKY ARTS’ PROGRAMME ‘In Confidence’ an intimate set of portraits of key figures within the art returns to the screen, with filming completed at the University’s Harrow campus Television studio

It’s also crewed by students and graduates from the BA Television course.

Graduates James Smith and Daniel Kenneally have worked with undergraduates Josh Milne and Lewis Wright on the last two series and eagerly anticipate the third which is just beginning.

Josh says, “Its a fantastic opportunity” “to work so closely with TV professionals and see at first hand the skill in putting the show together”.

Senior lecturer Rob Benfield says, “it re-enforces our focus, as a Skillset Academy, on the professional quality of our teaching on BA (Hons) Television”.

James Smith, now works at Fountain Studios as a camera  assistant.

He says because the programme’s standards were so high and the High Definition output so demanding,he was able to step seamlessly into the HD world of X factor and The Cube straightfrom the student environment at Westminster

School dean Sally Feldman said she was delighted the series had returned to the Harrow campus for the filming.

“The producers chose the University for the launch series. To choose our facilities again amongst strong competition demonstrates our professionalism and what’s on offer to our talented students”.

The new series of In Confidence starts with actress Sheila Hancock in conversation with Professor Laurie Taylor and includes Stephen Fry, Tracy Emin, and Christopher Hitchens.
