School wins fifth diversity tender

Westminster Business School have just won a tender ‘Understanding the Business Impacts of Equality and Diversity’ – a project commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) and Government Equalities Office (GEO).

The aim of the research is to comprehensively assess the evidence on the net business impacts of equality and diversity, in order to strengthen the existing understanding of the business case for equality and diversity. The study will:

  • develop a rigorous conceptual framework within which to structure the research
  • identify and de-fragment the evidence base
  • assess the strength of the evidence base on net business impacts
  • identify and assess relevant factors that influence the realisation of business impacts

The research will inform future BIS and GEO equality and diversity reports and will be helpful to Government in better understanding the applicability of a business case approach to equality and diversity in organisations. The project will be lead by Professor Peter Urwin and will also involve other Westminster Business School academics as well as diversity practitioners.

We are very pleased with this result and it adds to our already successful track record of winning four diversity tenders in the last three years. We are looking forward to working on the project and to expand our significant experience in diversity area.
