Advising the House of Commons

John Owens advises the House of Commons Select Committee on Reform.

Prof John Owens, who is an expert on United States congressional politics with 35 years of experience writing in the area, has been asked by the House of Commons Select Committee on Reform, chaired by CSD Visiting Professor Tony Wright MP, to submit evidence from the US Congress on scheduling business in the House. John has submitted evidence outlining the use of the discharge petition in the US House of Representatives, which the committee will consider before writing its report in the coming months.
