Westminster alumnus named as one of 50 most influential young Indians by GQ

Tourism and Events 3 August 2017

Westminster alumnus Gautom Menon is among the 50 most influential Indians on GQ’s list of young innovators, who have challenged the status quo and led change in their country.

Gautom received his recognition at an official award ceremony, attended by Indian artists, entertainers, digital disruptors, athletes and fashion designers.

Gautom Menon, who graduated from the Events and Conference Management MA at University of Westminster in 2013, is the founder and owner of Wild Tiger Rum, India's first premium Rum manufactured in Kerala for export and Travel Retail only, which has sold over 100,000 bottles in 22 countries in less than two years.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, the brand donates 10 per cent of its profits towards tiger conservation at the Sathyamangalam Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve in Southern India through its non-profit initiative, Wild Tiger Foundation.

Gautom said: “Innovation and social responsibility are at the heart of everything we do at Wild Tiger and we approached this with the mantra ‘Think out of the Bottle’.”

Remembering his time at the University, Gautom added: “I must admit that studying at Westminster and living in Central London helped me in many ways to realise my full potential and dream.”
