Disabled access at Cavendish Library

The Cavendish Library is on three floors, with access at third-floor level. A ramp provides access from the pavement to the main entrance.

Access to the fourth and fifth floors can be organised too, but you will first need to register with the University's Disability Learning Support team, who will assess your needs and make sure that appropriate support is in place during your studies.

Parking

We have two public disabled parking bays in front of the main building.

Assistive technology

Each of our libraries has an assistive technology area designed for students with disabilities.

Information about the equipment and software available can be found on our Accessibility page and in our Library Services Access Guide for Disabled Students (PDF). More details on all our available software can be found on our Computer rooms page.

Emergency evacuations

If you have any mobility problems, let us know when you arrive, so that we are aware you are in the building in case of an emergency evacuation.

Audible fire alarms are used in all University buildings. If you are unable to hear the fire alarm, please inform security staff when you first enter the building.
