We will be tailoring our delivery of our short courses in the year ahead, in accordance with government guidance on physical distancing, with the safety, health and wellbeing of our University community at the heart of our decisions. We will be delivering the CILEx courses via online virtual classroom until the end of 2020.
Whatever the way you start your Westminster experience - online, on campus or a blend of these - you can be assured of a warm welcome at our University, where your wellbeing, the quality of our teaching and your learning experience, are our priorities.
Overview
Course summary
CILEx (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) courses provide an alternative route to becoming a qualified lawyer. Our CILEx courses are taken part-time, so that you can continue to work while studying towards your qualification.
Students who have no previous legal experience or academic qualifications can start their legal education at Level 3 (equivalent to A Level standard), while those who have already completed a law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law are qualified to take the CILEx Level 6 qualifications.

Who is this course for?
This CILEx Level 3 course is the second year of Level 3 studies. It is suitable for you if you have no previous formal academic qualifications or legal experience, although CILEx recommends students possess English GCSE level or its equivalent.
The course provides 30 weeks of tuition (including mocks and feedback) in addition to pastoral care and regular access to a personal tutor throughout the academic year. It also includes some periods of independent guided study. Each unit is at A Level standard.
CILEx (not the University of Westminster) may allow certain exemptions for previous studies. Please view the CILEx exemptions table and contact CILEx directly to see what exemptions you may qualify for.

There are instalment options available for the tuition fees. The instalment plan consists of 50% at enrolment, 25% on 11 December and 25% on 29 January.
