Entry requirements

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree (eg a BA, BSc, BEng or LLB) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.

You will typically need to have one of the following:

  • a recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60-65%
  • A Levels or International Baccalaureate – check our course pages for more details

University preparation courses

Our partner college, Kaplan International College London, offers a Foundation Certificate leading to entry to a broad range of our Bachelor's degrees.

English language requirements

The English language requirements for our courses are provided on individual course pages as minimum IELTS scores.

For information about equivalent English language qualifications that are accepted by the University, please visit our English language requirements page.

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Master's degree (eg MA, MSc or LLM) or research programme (eg MPhil or PhD) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

For entry to a Master's degree that requires a UK 2:2 degree, you will typically need to have one of the following:

  • Licence with a minimum 12/20 or assez bien
  • Diplôme de (subject area) with a minimum 12/20 or assez bien
  • Diplôme d'Études Supérieures with a minimum 12/20 or assez bien
  • Diplôme d’Ingenieur d’Etat with a minimum 12/20 or assez bien
  • Diplôme d’Architecte d’Etat with a minimum 12/20 or assez bien

For entry to a Master's degree that requires a UK 2:1 degree, you will typically need to have one of the following:
