International student welcome programme

Moving to a university in another country can be both exciting and daunting. The University of Westminster organises a free welcome programme for students who are new to the UK.

The International Student Welcome Programme is a three-day event with a trip to Brighton on Sunday. It will help you meet new people and introduce you to living and studying in the UK. The programme is an excellent opportunity to meet staff and students at the University and become familiar with the University, before your lectures start.

There will be workshops and presentations with lots of useful information such as a talk from the Police about keeping safe in London, information sessions on immigration and visa, the National Health Service and banking in the UK.

Who is the International Student Welcome Programme for?

The International Student Welcome Programme is for international students, including students from the European Union, who are new to the UK and are due to start a degree course at the University in September 2017.

The programme is not for Education Abroad students or Exchange students that are here for one semester/one year, as you will have your own orientation programme organised by the Education Abroad unit.

When and where will the programme be held?

The International Student Welcome Programme will be on Monday 11, 12 and 13 September and will include an enrolment session for students who want to enrol early.

The programme will be held at our Marylebone Campus with an evening boat trip taking place down the River Thames on Wednesday 13 September.

You will need to book to attend the Welcome Programme and the boat trip. There are limited places available for the boat trip, we would strongly recommend that you book early as we cannot guarantee you a ticket.

You will not be able to get a ticket for the boat trip or Brighton trip if you are not attending the main Welcome Programme event.
