The University of Westminster’s Africa Media Centre promotes collaborative research on African film, media, communication and social change, and often hosts conferences and guest lectures in London. The centre organised several events last year, including the African Film and Politics Conference, African Film and Social Change, Media and Elections in Africa Conference, and Documenting Africa: Creating Fact or Fiction through the Lens.

Entry requirements

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree (eg a BA, BSc, BEng or LLB) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.

For entry to foundation courses, you will typically need to have the following:

  • Ugandan Advanced Certificate (UACE)

For entry to Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have the following:

  • Ugandan Advanced Certificate (UACE) five subjects at Grade C and above. Many courses will require higher grades.

University preparation courses

Our partner college, Kaplan International College London, offers a Foundation Certificate leading to entry to a broad range of our Bachelor's degrees.

English language requirements

The English language requirements for our courses are provided on individual course pages as minimum IELTS scores.

For information about equivalent English language qualifications that are accepted by the University, please visit our English language requirements page.

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Master's degree (eg MA, MSc or LLM) or research programme (eg MPhil or PhD) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.

You will typically need to have one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA 2.80-3.59 (55-64%) from a recognised institution. Students applying for postgraduate courses requiring a UK Second Class Upper degree will need a CGPA 3.60-4.39 (65-74%) and those applying for a course requiring a UK First Class degree will need a CGPA 4.40-5.00 (75-100%).
