Entry requirements

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree (eg a BA, BSc, BEng or LLB) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.

For entry into Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have one of the following:

  • One year at a recognised university in China with an overall average of 70% (GPA 2.0/4) or above
  • University College Graduation Diploma or a Graduation Diploma from Radio and TV Universities / Spare-time Universities / Training Colleges for Administrative cadres / Higher Education Self-Study Examinations or Adult Education at Zhuanke level with high grades DaZhuan or Zhuan Ke 2 year
  • A recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%
  • National High School Graduation Diploma or Gaokao results can be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Undergraduate admissions, Harrow Admissions or China Team at [email protected] for details

To be considered for entry into Year 2 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 5), you will typically need to have one of the following:

  • Bachelor Degree Year Two completed from a recognised university in China with an overall average of 70% (GPA 2.0/4) or above
  • Dazhuan three year Diploma in a relevant subject area with 70% (GPA 2.0/4) or above. If your diploma is in a closely related subject area, you may also be considered for entry into Year 3 of our Bachelor's degrees (Level 6)
  • UK Higher National Diploma (HND) with grades CCC

To be considered for entry into Year 3 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 6), you wil typically need to have one of the following:

  • Dazhuan three year Diploma in a closely related subject area with 70% (GPA 2.0/4) or above
  • UK Higher National Diploma (HND) with grades BBB if studying a 3 Grade Unit SQA HND or BB if studying a 2 Grade Unit SQA HND
