A British Academy funded research (2010-2011) that sought to identify and critically analyse the China's main strategies of public diplomacy around Tibet. The project will contribute to a monograph ‘Tibet: Competing Histories and Futures’ which will analyse, for the first time, competing Chinese, Tibetan, Western and Indian perspectives. This small grant, along with a previous small grant from British Association for South Asian Studies on “From Contact Zone to Conflict Zone: Geopolitics and Boundary Making in China-India Relations’ (£2000), also contributed to research on China-India border dispute that is resulting in a forthcoming monograph on the subject.
